This dataset ranks the top 20 general contractors based on the reported cost of their new construction and renovation projects in Chicago.
The Real Deal analyzed permit data filed with the city of Chicago from Jan. 2, 2025, to Jan. 22, 2026, examining both new construction and renovation/alterations.
The dataset includes the ranking of the top 20 firms, their total volume, project count and contact information, as well as the raw data on all 6,962 permits evaluated for the study.
