Foreclosure activity nationwide is up, according to real estate data firm ATTOM. Foreclosure starts rose four percent in October over September, with 30,784 properties entering foreclosure proceedings. Completed foreclosures rose 12 percent.
Nevada led the way with the highest rate of foreclosure, at one property out of 2,741 — a decrease by .21 percent from September, but a 4.21 percent rise from October 2023. Runner-up was New Jersey, with a rate of 3,059, followed by Florida with 3,086.
South Dakota saw the fewest foreclosures, with only one home out of every 26,210 undergoing proceedings.
