Who donated to Eric Adams?

Mayor Eric Adams earned the greatest share of real estate donations during the last filing period for the city’s mayoral campaign.

Between July 12 and Aug. 18, Adams took in $60,500 from individuals within the industry, according to an analysis of campaign filings by The Real Deal that did not take into account donations to political action committees.

That was the most among the major mayoral candidates during this period and made up 42 percent of all individual donations from the real estate industry.

Eleven donors, including Jason Strauss, co-CEO of TAO Group, real estate investor Adam Falk of BH3 Management and Chris Lombardo, CEO of Rock Ridge Construction Management,  gave the maximum $2,100 each to Adams during this filing period.

Adams drew more attention from the real estate industry following the June primary, when former Gov. Andrew Cuomo — who the industry had at first enthusiastically backed — lost to Democratic nominee Zohran Mamdani.

However, this boost in real estate-related donations to Adams fell during this last period by more than 87 percent from the prior filing period of June 25 and July 11, when Adams raked in more than $480,000 from the industry.

During the most recent filing period from July 12 to Aug. 18, individuals from the real estate industry funneled a combined almost $144,200 to Adams, Mamdani, Cuomo, Curtis Sliwa and Jim Walden, who on Tuesday dropped out of the race for mayor.

Across all donor types, Adams brought in more than $425,000 worth of donations during this time — the third-most among the candidates.

Mamdani, who has been a member of the New York state Assembly since 2021, representing the 36th district in Queens, reported more than $1 million in total donations. Approximately $19,700 of those funds came from individual donors tied to the real estate industry.

The next period for campaign filings is from Aug. 19 to Sept. 29, due by Oct. 3.
