East end luxury market

For Bespoke Real Estate’s Vichinsky brothers, sitting atop a ranking of the top residential brokers in the Hamptons is not unfamiliar territory. The duo landed in the No. 1 spot in The Real Deal’s 2019 ranking of ultra-luxury brokers — those who closed the highest sales volumes of homes priced at $10 million or more. And in years past, the Vichinskys sat atop previous TRD rankings that included sales of homes priced under that amount on the East End.

TRD also set out this cycle to list the top 10 Hamptons brokerages by volume of single-family sales in excess of $10 million between April 1, 2018, and March 31, 2019. The Corcoran Group took the top spot with $365.9 million in closed sales. Bespoke, which focuses specifically on the $10 million-plus market, came in at No. 2. Notable trades handled by the firm within the last year include the $32 million sale of a Southampton oceanfront estate and the $26.1 million sale of Montauk’s Villa Maria compound.

Source: First published in the May 2019 Tri-State issue of The Real Deal. TRD analysis of $10M+ single-family residential sales on the East End that closed between April 1, 2018 and March 31, 2019. Sales were submitted by brokerages and verified via public records, news clips and online listings. No off-market sales were counted. Agents were credited with listing and buying sides; sales where the same agent represented both sides were counted twice. For instances in which multiple agents or teams at the same firm were credited as closing a deal, the dollar value of the sale was divided by the number of agents or teams who handled the transaction. If a sale was co-brokered with an agent or team at another firm, each agent or team was given the full dollar value of the sale. TRD counted agents as teams if they shared at least 75 percent of their deals or if they were a known team or partnership. Broker sales were credited to the brokerages with which they last sold a home in the specified date range. Daniel Gale Sotheby’s and Town & Country Real Estate did not participate in this ranking. Corcoran declined to provide a breakdown of which sides of the deals it was on.
