A spokesperson for DiCaprio reached out to Vox writer David Roberts Thursday to clarify that the Oscar-winning actor and noted environmentalist had never actually endorsed the anti-density initiative, the website’s sister publication Curbed reported.

Rather, he only signed a petition from the Coalition to Preserve L.A. — the group behind the initiative — to save a particular Hollywood building.

The Coalition has since removed DiCaprio’s name from its initial announcement of supporters, which also include Kirsten Dunst, Joaquin Phoenix, Chris Pine, Garrett Hedlund and Chloe Sevigny. [Curbed]Cathaleen Chen
