Fashion philanthropist Yvonne Niami buys Bel Air home for $16M

Yvonne Niami, the founder of the n:philanthropy apparel brand, bought an eight-bedroom,11,500-square-foot home in Bel Air for $16.2 million, sources told The Real Deal.

The sellers were Gordon and Noel Hentschel, according to property records. The Hentschels own the Gatsby-esque 330-acre Stonepine Estate in the Carmel Valley, known to play host to high-profile meetings and weddings.

Linda May of Hilton and Hyland and Joe Babajian were the listing agents for the property. Drew Fenton of Hilton and Hyland represented Niami.

The three-story French Normandy-style home, built in 1934, sits on a one-acre lot on Copa De Oro road, set back from the road behind iron gates and a spacious cobblestone motor-court. The grounds include a three-car garage, landscaped gardens, and staff quarters.

The home’s interior includes a chef’s kitchen, guest suite and gym. The home is in shouting distance from the Bel Air Country Club.

Niami, whose clothing line gives 10 percent of its proceeds to charity, also owns a tequila company called VIVA XXXII which gives a percentage of its proceeds to animal abuse prevention.
