Compass hired four agents from Sotheby’s this month, poaching them from various Westside offices, the company told The Real Deal. The bigger players, Amy Alcini and Tony Mark, will join Compass’ Malibu office.

Alcini was hired out of Sotheby’s Malibu office. She has been selling luxury real estate in the area since 1999. From 2012 to date, she has sold over $200 million worth of Malibu real estate and has roughly $70 million of active listings, according to a release from Compass.

Mark was a former partner and owner of Prudential Malibu Realty before it sold to Sotheby’s in Sept. 2014. The son of realtor Alan Mark, his specialty is properties in the Malibu Beach area. Because his clients have included celebrities and entertainment executives, he is expected to work in Compass’ recently launched Sports & Entertainment division, headed by Kofi Nartey, though that has not yet been confirmed.

Compass has also hired Ryan Jancula and Trevor Montano from Sotheby’s. Both brokers specialize in the Pacific Palisades.

Compass’ Malibu office opened in January 2016, but it has yet to move into permanent space. Its 20 agents work out of an office at 29170 Heathercliff Road while the firm builds out its 3,300-square-foot home at 24903 Pacific Coast Highway, a spokesperson for Compass told TRD. The firm is expected to move in Spring 2017.
