From The Real Deal Los Angeles: Having more kids is always expensive — even when you’re Jay Z and Beyoncé.

The power couple is renting a $400,000 per month mansion in Malibu Colony until the end of August, following the birth of their twins earlier this month at UCLA Medical Center.

Known as La Villa Contenta, the 6.3-acre property has 14 bedrooms and 10 bathrooms with a rose garden, a landscaped desert area and a tennis court with a viewing deck, the Daily Mail reported.

The property also has an indoor pool house featuring 20-foot glass ceilings and an onyx fireplace with shell-encrusted chandeliers resembling octopi (because why not?), a large office building and a complex to house staff.

Next to the front door of the 30,000-square-foot main home is a 2,500-year-old lion’s head bust that was reportedly discovered at the base of Mt. Vesuvius in Italy, according to the Daily Mail. There are also 18th century chandeliers inside the home, carved from amethyst and rock crystal.

Other features include a library with marble fireplace, a media room with a 14-foot screen, a billiards room, a solarium that seats 10.

Beyoncé is said to have been joined this week with her mother Tina Knowles and her husband Jay-Z and daughter Blue Ivy.

The property is owned by real estate mogul Richard Weintraub, who first listed the property in December 2010 for $75 million. It is now asking $54.5 million, the Daily Mail reported. [DM]Subrina Hudson
