Leave it the well-heeled to dream up homes recalling days of excess. Three of the priciest listings last week drew influence from bygone eras.

The priciest pad, asking $22.5 million, was inspired by Petit Trianon, Marie Antoinette’s summer palace in Versailles. The Holmby Hills mansion with Italian marble and cherry wood floors has six bedrooms and 12 bathrooms. There’s also a 46-foot-high dome in the entryway.

With an asking price of $19.9 million, the Beverly Hills penthouse on Wilshire Boulevard underwent a $3 million renovation and redesign to reflect an Art Deco style. The two-story condominium has three bedrooms and four bathrooms. It also has a 1,824-square-foot outdoor terrace and private interior elevator.

Lastly, the Old World estate off Carbon Mesa Road sits on more than five acres with a stone archway leading to a private sun deck. Owned by actor and filmmaker Mel Gibson, the 6,578-square-foot property also has its fair share of religious artwork, Variety reported. The property even includes rights to the exclusive La Costa Beach and Tennis Club where the membership fee costs about $100,000 with $670 in annual dues.
