The two most popular playgrounds for the rich and famous – Beverly Hills and Malibu – were also home to the priciest listings in Los Angeles last week.

Three of the five most expensive homes are in Beverly Hills. The priciest of the bunch hit the market for $45 million.

Listed by Doug Barnes, the Dallas-based eyewear entrepreneur who founded the retail chain Eyemart Express, the 14,279-square-foot mansion on Oxford Way has seven bedrooms and 11 bathrooms and a foyer with 25-foot ceilings. The 3,200-square-foot master wing has its own cabana-style outdoor living area and fireplace. There’s also an 80-foot-long computerized waterfall with a light show, movie theater and parking for 20 cars, according to listing details.

Jumping to the shores of Malibu, the second priciest listing on Murphy Way asked $10.5 million. The 7,940-square-foot home is on the market for the first time since trading hands in 2008.

The Tuscan villa-style home sits on more than 11 acres. It has a home theater, office, gym, billiards room and a six-car garage, according to listing details.
