The one wireless password multifamily developers are typing is f-r-e-e.

It turns out one of the most attractive business services amenities at multifamily developments is free WiFi, according to a recent reader survey by Multifamily Design + Construction.

Nearly 60 percent of respondents said they included free building-wide Internet access in the past year, Building Design + Construction reported.

Conference rooms and individually metered utilities tied for second-place at 48 percent.

Smart technology including electric charging stations, fiber optic services and smart home systems such as Nest were also trending for developers and designers.

Others were placing bets on new concepts such as co-working and incubator spaces. [BD+C] — Subrina Hudson
