Taking a shot: NBA exec asks $40K a month for Pacific Palisades home

Two weeks into the NBA season, Detroit Pistons vice chairman Arn Tellem is looking to rent out his Pacific Palisades home.

Tellem is asking $40,000 per month for the 9,000-square-foot home with six bedrooms and eight bathrooms, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The house has pitched roofs and large living areas, along with a sizeable kitchen. It also has an outdoor putting green, large patio area, pool, spa and a gym.

The high asking price is not a layup for renters but it’s also not a half-court Hail Mary. L.A. has seen larger leases for mansions in the past. Earlier this year, entrepreneur Ed Freedman shelled out $120,000 a month for a beachside home in Malibu.  Comedy legend Mel Brooks is asking $135,000 per month for his Malibu home, but it doesn’t appear anyone has taken him up on it.
