Westside landlord V&L Properties is stepping into the development game with a planned 192-room elder care facility in Century City.

The 242,000-square-foot facility is planned at 10330 W. Bellwood Avenue, in a residential area off Olympic Boulevard near two hotels. It would replace a two-story apartment complex with under 100 units. The facility is planned to be 70 feet tall and have underground parking.

V&L purchased the site in 2011 for $12.1 million through Bellwood Investors LLC. The company manages two apartment rental buildings on the Westside and it appears the Bellwood Avenue project would be its first development. A representative declined to comment on the project.

An unrelated elder care facility is also being planned in Westchester. The 41,600-square-foot project will replace the Buggy Whip restaurant. The entity controlling the site is connected to Infinity Property Management of Torrance.
