A spec home developer and architect known for designing mansions for the rich and famous, has listed his own Hollywood Hills property.

Michael Mueller is asking $28 million for the spec mansion he designed and built, according to the Wall Street Journal.

The 10,000-square-foot mansion is located on Viewmont Drive, according to the Journal. It was completed in 2019, after years of delays and five years of building. It includes five bedrooms, eight bathrooms, chef’s kitchen, library, home theatre, home office and fitness room.

The hillside home is braced with about $9-million worth of structural supports, the Journal reported.

He purchased the lot for $3.4 million in 2003 when he started working on spec homes. Mueller has worked on homes for celebrities such as Nicole Kidman.

The overall luxury residential market has cooled in neighborhoods like Hollywood Hills, with fewer homes priced at $5 million or above sold, and with an increasing number of owners slashing their original asking. [WSJ]Gregory Cornfield
