Judd Apatow and Leslie Mann snag a Sawtelle office for production company

Hollywood power couple Leslie Mann and Judd Apatow have picked up a new office on the Westside for their production company, Apatow Productions.

In April, Apatow and Mann closed on a $12.4 million deal for a two-story building at 2257 Colby Avenue in Sawtelle, not far from Apatow Productions’ current office on Pico Boulevard.

Apatow founded the production company in 1999 and has produced a steady stream of television and films over the last two decades. Along with work outside the production house, Mann has starred in several of those films, including “Knocked Up,” “Funny People,” and “This Is 40.”

The couple recently purchased a penthouse in nearby Santa Monica.

They bought the Colby Avenue building from Inter-Pacific Trading Corporation, a footwear distributor that operated there but that is now going out of business, an Inter-Pacific representative told The Real Deal.

The half-acre property, which includes a parking lot, sits at the corner of Tennessee Avenue near a dead end. The office building dates from 1982 and spans about 15,200 square feet, according to Los Angeles County records.

Offices and apartment complexes trade at a steady clip in Sawtelle. The area is well situated between Santa Monica and Century City, but without the ultra-high premiums those markets command.

There’s also both residential and office properties in the pipeline for the area. Vantage Property Investors has enlisted Gensler to design a 135,000-square-foot office on Sawtelle Boulevard. Not far from the new Apatow Productions office, an unknown developer wants to build a nine-story office building.

Also, Jamison is working on a 100-unit residential complex at a carwash site on Santa Monica Boulevard.
