Developer City Ventures is planning a 133-unit townhouse complex in what is now a swath of industrial properties in Commerce.

The development would rise on 5.7 acres at 5550 Harbor Street, 5625 Jillson Street, and 5555 Jillson Street, according to Urbanize.

The three-story townhomes would be largely uniform — each is planned as three-bedroom units that would range from 1,400 square feet to 1,670 square feet. They would also each have a two-car garage.

Orange County-based City Ventures is developing similarly-scaled townhome projects in Santa Rosa and Santee in San Diego County. It also developed a solar-powered townhome complex in Long Beach.

The firm plans to build the Commerce project in phases starting in September and wrapping up by the end of 2023, according to Urbanize.

City Ventures’ project is on the edge of Commerce’s largest residential area.

Craig Realty Group is also looking to expand the nearby Citadel Outlets shopping center with hundreds of thousands of square feet of residential space. [Urbanize] — Dennis Lynch
