Restaurateur Dana Hollister has listed her sprawling Paramour Estate for $40 million.

The four-acre Silver Lake compound sits on the highest promontory in the area and the 22-room mansion is the neighborhood’s largest home, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The compound at 1923 Micheltorena Street is also known as the Canfield-Moreno Estate for its first owners: silent film star Antonio Moreno and his wife Daisy Canfield Moreno. Architect Robert D. Farquhar designed the compound for them in 1923.

The main house spans 18,000 square feet and there are three guesthouses on the property. The Morenos used the property as a boarding school for orphaned girls during the Great Depression, according to the report.

The property was sold in 1950 to the Franciscan Missionary Sister of the Immaculate Conception and turned into a convent. It remained a convent until Hollister bought it in 1998 for $2.3 million. It is now a luxury hotel. Some of Hollister’s bars and restaurants have included Brite Spot, 4100 Bar and Villain’s Tavern.

Hollister appears to have a soft spot for convents — she fought a contentious legal battle with pop star Katy Perry and the Archdiocese of Los Angeles to buy an 8-acre convent in Los Feliz.

Perry won that fight and paid the archdiocese $14.5 million for the property in 2014, but a group of nuns challenged the sale. They argued they had a right to sell the property, and had agreed to sell it to Hollister.

Perry also won that court battle, and was able to convert the property to a private home. Hollister was ordered in late 2017 to pay Perry and the Archdiocese around $15 million in damages, forcing her to declare bankruptcy.
