Foreclosure data hints improvement

The number of homes repossessed by lenders slowed by 5 percent in
April, according to a study by Foreclosures.com, while pre-foreclosures
declined by 7.52 percent. The California-based firm found Florida still
leads the nation in the total number of pre-foreclosure filings at
162,316 for the first four months of the year, or 25.6 per 1,000
households. But the state was not among the top five in REO filings per
