Palm Beach hotel and condo complex revised

A $100 million hotel and condo complex planned for West Palm Beach, next to the county’s convention center, might not go forward after its developer requested more time and public money to build a scaled down project. The revised plan cuts the number of hotel rooms from 400 to 340, eliminates all 104 condo units and makes taxpayers provide the company’s $11.5 million share of the costs for a parking garage. The new proposal also pushes the completion date of the parking garage back a year to January 2010, and delays the hotel eight months to December 2010.
