Housing market, government approval rating fall together

As the housing market falls, so do people’s good opinions of the government. In University of Michigan consumer opinion surveys from May, only 6 percent thought of government economic policies as “good,” 37 percent responded that the policies were “only fair” and 55 percent thought of them as “poor” (2 percent had no opinion). This marks a sharp decline from the April readings, and is a record low approval rating of economic policies. This downward decline follows the nation’s falling real estate prices.
