As homeowners hope to make a profit on their homes in the slow market, some are cutting out realtors to save money. HomesByOwner.com, ByOwner.com, and FSBO.com are just a few of the Web sites that offer owners a chance to market their homes. Some can even list properties on multiple-listing services. Some sellers see the sales commissions as lost profits, but the National Association of Realtors says that do-it-yourself sellers do not come out on top when selling solely on the Internet.
