German buys Whole Foods retail condo

The 59,155-square-foot Coral Gables retail condo owned by Whole Foods on the ground floor of Plaza San Remo sold for $31.1 million. Dallas-based Phoenix Property Co. advised the buyer, a German institutional investor. The seller, Venera Holdings, was represented by Colliers Abood Wood-Fay brokers Crotty, Michael Fay and David Metalonis, along with Holliday Fenoglio Fowler brokers Danny Finkle and Luis Castro. Urban Miami area condos sell for about $500 a square foot; this deal comes out to $565 a square foot.
