US home sales decline

Sales of used U.S. homes declined for the third month out of the last four, as homeowners put off buying while they wait for prices to fall more. Tougher mortgage standards were also blamed. “Prices are still coming down and that is pushing buyers to the sidelines,” said Anna Piretti, a senior economist at BNP Paribas in New York. “With credit tighter, it’s more difficult to get a mortgage.”
