South Florida foreclosures rise in June

Regional foreclosure rates increased in June, according to a report from research firm RealtyTrac, which showed a 68 percent jump in Broward County alone. In Broward, which had the third-highest foreclosure rate in the state in May, 6,292 homes went into foreclosure or were confiscated by lenders last month, representing one of every 127 homes. Miami-Dade County’s foreclosure rate, representing one in every 180 homes, rose 4 percent over the same period a year ago, and 9 percent over the month of May. The county ranked seventh statewide with 5,289 homes.
