A hotel grows in Coral Gables

City commissioners on Tuesday approved a plan to allow the Biltmore Hotel to start its expansion plans, beginning with a public evaluation of plans to build an 850-space underground public parking garage, about 80 homes and 20 additional hotel rooms on the hotel property’s west parking lot. Biltmore president Gene Prescott also asked the city to defer until the project’s completion $591,000 in fees to expand the landmark hotel had gotten underway.
