Broward County saw an 8 percent jump in existing home sales in July from a year ago, but that still marks a sequential decline of 12 percent from June. Sales had risen for the five consecutive previous months, according to the Florida Association of Realtors. Condo sales fell 1 percent in July from a year ago, while the median price of $138,300 plummeted 26 percent from last year’s $187,200. During the first half of this year, 23 percent of Broward sellers unloaded their homes at a loss, up from 2 percent in 2006, according to sales data.
