Some Florida hotels have been lowering rates during the year to boost business, but are raising prices for Labor Day weekend tourism. Labor Day is one of the weakest holiday weekends in South Florida because of hurricane season, but the Tropical Storm Gustav is supposed to steer clear of Key West. The tourism bureau for Miami-Dade County expects an increase in tourists from last year’s Labor Day weekend.
