Miami lawyer Robert Cooper has clients who want to back out of purchasing condos, and has a new strategy for buyers’ remorse. His latest suits are against Cabi Developers, who built the 866-unit Everglades on the Bay project across from Bayfront Park in downtown Miami, and Neo Epoch, developer of the Wind condominium along the Miami River at 350 South Miami Avenue. They claim that the developers will be undercapitalized and won’t be able to meet their obligations with so many other buyers refusing to close. He’s filed about 100 lawsuits on behalf of 900 clients. Hal Pathman, a Miami lawyer involved in condo-contract disputes, is skeptical of the approach.
