Philanthropist Carroll Petrie took a hit when she sold her 3,000-square-foot Poinciana Park home for $3 million last month to investor John D. Firestone, $500,000 cheaper than she paid for it one year earlier. Petrie may have been in a rush to sell because she had another property lined up. She recently paid $7.45 million for a 6,700-square-foot, five-bedroom home one mile south, also in Palm Beach.
