The Real Deal Miami

Decision near for hotel’s future

Plans for a large waterfront hotel in Delray Beach may end an
eight-year legal limbo. City commissioners will vote on a proposal to
allow developer Vista Del Mar LLC to knock down the 20-room Bermuda Inn
motel, at 64 South Ocean Boulevard, and replace it with a 48-foot-tall,
70-room boutique hotel called Hotel Vista Del Mar. The past owners of a
restaurant next door appealed the plans when developers first presented
them to a city review board in 2001. Ocean Properties, which bought the
restaurant for $11.3 million in 2006, has the same complaints. The
commission is scheduled to vote Tuesday.
