The recession has taken a bit of a toll on online valuation and listings site Zillow.com, which last week announced it is laying off 40 people, or 25 percent of the company’s workforce. Rich Barton, Zillow founder, chairman and CEO, said a prolonged recession is likely and said it was necessary to cut expenses in preparation.
