Jorge Perez, the billionaire who heads the Related Group of Florida, looks back and says the bubble carried his thinking along with everyone else. We kidded ourselves, he told a Palm Beach County business group, adding that there’s plenty of blame to go around. He pointed to overeager developers, asleep-at-the-wheel lenders and regulators, speculators and the doom-saying media. Perez predicts a difficult 2009, although he thinks South Florida prices will bounce back.
