Aesthetics spur possible shutter ban

Palm Beach’s Town Council and the Architectural Review Commission have
proposed an ordinance that would require that shutters remain off and
awnings remain
down in mixed-use zones unless a storm threatens the area. Shuttered
windows and bare awning frames could discourage shoppers, they
say. The town is drafting the ordinance and could vote on it as early
as December.
