Parkland passes resolution against new Parkland

The Parkland City Commission passed a resolution Wednesday
night formally objecting to the use of the Parkland name for a proposed
development

near West Kendall. Parkland Mayor Michael Udine said the new development’s use
of the name would “water down” the city’s identity. A spokesperson for
Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Alvarez said the Parkland development wouldn’t be a
city, just a neighborhood.
