Florida’s unemployment rate hit a 15-year high, topping 7 percent in
October, according to the state’s Agency for Workforce Innovation.
That’s about 655,000 out-of-work residents out of 9.3 million, up 2.7
percentage points from a year ago. Florida’s unemployment rate is 0.5
percentage points higher than the national unemployment rate of 6.5
percent, which hasn’t been this high since 1992.
