Robert Falor, whose condo-hotel conversion ventures in South Beach
ended in lawsuits, has been indicted in Chicago for an alleged scam in
a development in Ohio. Falor allegedly took payments for a stake in a
condo-hotel conversion in Cuyahoga County. Prosecutors say he had no
ownership in the project. The theft charge, a felony, carries a maximum
penalty of five years in prison. In Florida, Falor’s Breakwater Hotel
went bankrupt and the Royal Palm faces a repossession fight with a
lender.
