Statewide statistics show Floridians are most concerned about mortgage scams and deceitful foreclosure rescue services, according to Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum. Consumers filed 7,305 complaints related to mortgage and foreclosure schemes, according to a recent report from McCollum’s office. That was followed by 5,103 complaints about debt-collection services, collection agencies and credit-reporting companies. McCollum said his office has seen a significant increase in complaints filed for 2009, a 29 percent increase over February 2008.
