Dania Beach commissioners are considering a plan for $250 million
worth of city improvements over a 40-year period. The plan involves
turning the city into a marine industry hub by constructing bridges
that will accommodate large boats and new waterfront buildings for
marine industries. The city also wants to designate some nearby areas
as brownfields,
or lands that are contaminated to a point that they are difficult to
clean up, so the owners can qualify for tax credits for cleaning up
the land.
