Broward gets biggest lease deal from insurer

The Lake Shore Plaza II office center will have New York Life occupy a 28,230-square-foot space, in Broward County’s largest commercial deal this year. Landlord Stiles Corp. seeks LEED “silver” certification for the 130,000-square-foot building, which opened last summer. Greg Jensen, New York Life managing partner for South Florida, said the green aspects of the building were appealing. In Broward, modest negative absorption has been recorded through the first quarter, according to CB Richard Ellis. Overall leasing activity for the quarter was down 27 percent over the year to 283,000 square feet, mostly involving Class B space.
