Turnberry Associates, the development arm of the Soffer real estate family, sued Fairmont Hotels in Miami-Dade Court, alleging mismanagement following a pricey renovation to the Turnberry Isle Resort. The developer said the hotel management firm failed to market the Aventura property as a five-star hotel. Soffer also is struggling with the fortunes of the Fontainebleau Miami Beach, which Jeffrey Soffer and partners acquired in 2005. The landmark is facing a battered vacation market after reopening in November following a $500 million renovation.
