FEMA faces trailer shortage

The regional director of the Federal Emergency Management Agency has ordered hundreds of trailers to serve as emergency housing in the event of a major hurricane, but it’s not clear they will arrive in Florida ahead of heavy weather. FEMA’s Phil May, who oversees the region that includes Florida, said emergency housing stock is available, but congressional leaders have raised doubts that enough manufactured housing is available in the event of a damaging storm.
