Miami-Dade County will have its first casino early next year, according to a construction schedule begun Wednesday when Churchill Downs Inc. and Calder Race Course broke ground on a 104,000-square-foot slots and gaming building. It’s scheduled to open before the Super Bowl, which will be played in Miami.
