Positive statistics not necessarily a good sign

The housing industry sent the country spiraling into a recession, but it probably won’t lead the country out if it, Newsweek’s Daniel Gross wrote. Recent recessions have led to dramatic shifts in the economy and in the way different industries are structured, so the housing industry probably won’t be the same when the recession is over. Even recent positive housing statistics aren’t necessarily a good sign because housing is so seasonal. The year-over-year statistics, which are more accurate, paint a disappointing picture for the housing market, he said.
