The Florida Attorney General’s Office continues to pursue reports of fraudulent mortgage modification and foreclosure rescue companies and announced seven new investigations in South Florida. There are 11 open cases in the region and 40 statewide, the attorney general’s office said. Scams include taking fees up front, a violation of state law, and falsely claiming to provide government funds to modify home loans.
