Fort Lauderdale tower gets renovation

The 110 Tower in central Fort Lauderdale will get a $31 million renovation from asset manager GenCap Partners. It will convert the lighting to energy efficient standards, as well as the ventilation and air conditioning systems. Transwestern Commercial Services is overseeing the work to meet the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design standards. GenCap wants silver LEED certification and has said it would incorporate the green upgrades into the buildout for new tenants, as well as existing tenants, said David Castilla, managing principal of Dallas-based GenCap.
