Case-Shiller shows uptick in South Florida home prices

Home price indices saw an average nationwide increase August, and South Florida was part of the improvement, according to the latest S&P Case-Shiller report. Regional home prices rose 1.1 percent to 148.91 in August, but were still down 19 percent compared to August 2008, which is worse than the national average of 11.3 percent, based on a composite of 20 cities.
