March 19, 2010 12:06PM

Florida had the nation’s third-highest price decline in home prices in January, at 9.3 percent, according to First American CoreLogic’s home price index report and forecast. National home prices dropped by just 0.7 percent in January 2010, a steep improvement over the 3.4 percent decline in prices year over year in December 2009. Florida’s year over year decline was also third-worst in America. According to the report, housing prices will keep falling into the spring, but will recover “modestly” through the end of the year.
