Buried in state jobs bill, looser regulations for developers

Up for a senate vote Thursday within the “Jobs for Florida” bill are several provisions that could ease several regulations that would be a benefit to developers. According to the bill, projects of 40 acres or less, if the plans are made by a professional engineer, would not require any kind of environmental permit. Second, any environmental permit application that is not ruled upon within 30 days is automatically approved. Also within the bill are nearly $200 million in tax breaks on the space, high-tech and film industries. [Miami Herald]
