Probe for Hialeah Housing Authority following proposal by Mayor Julio Robaina

March 30, 2010 12:29PM

The Hialeah Housing Authority’s operations since 2009 will be probed
after Mayor Julio Robaina proposed such an investigation to the city’s
board of commissioners. Several claims, including too much flex time,
missing documents and unredeemed housing vouchers have plagued the
agency. The authority will be audited by Cornwell Associates, which
will make reports in 30 and 60 days. Last week, the housing authority’s
former executive director sued Robaina, claiming defamation at a public
meeting. [Miami Herald]
