Knauf Plasterboard Tianjin, a German-owned, China-based firm, has
agreed to a settlement with Atlantia-based Beazer Homes, a home builder
that has developed many communities in Florida. The company has been
working on a settlement since a ruling in federal court in New Orleans
that drywall-affected homes must be gutted. The ruling, by Judge Eldon
Fallon, held that the company also had to pay damages to a family for
their home’s drywall-related problems. According to Beazer’s Web site,
the home builder has projects in areas near Panama City, Tallahassee,
Jacksonville, Tampa and Orlando. [NPR]
